LeafLine's micromesh stainless system is the only gutter protection independently rated to keep out pine needles, shingle grit, and oak tassels — the three failure modes that defeat every other system on the market. Lifetime clog-free guarantee. Installed in one visit by W-2 LeafLine crews.
A LeafLine specialist measures your gutters in about 30 minutes. Itemised written estimate, valid 30 days.

In late 2025, an independent home-products testing lab in Madison, WI ran six common gutter protection systems through four standardized failure-mode tests. Below is the published summary. Full methodology in the lab's white paper (linked in the footer).
Only system to pass all four tests, including the pine-needle and shingle-grit modes that defeated every other product tested.
Passed the leaf and acorn tests; failed on pine needles (0.6mm aperture too wide). Mesh oxidation observed.
Sheds leaves well in low-volume rain; overflow on high-volume events. Pine needles bridged the gap.
Affordable but failed all four tests. Foam degraded under UV in eight weeks. Brushes trapped debris on top.

0.4 mm. That is the size of the openings in our 316L stainless steel micromesh — smaller than a pine needle, smaller than a single shingle granule, smaller than the oak tassels that defeat 80% of consumer gutter systems by the second autumn.
The mesh sits on a powder-coated aluminum frame, mounted at a slight upward angle under your shingle line. Water flows through. Debris stays on top and gets washed off by the next rain or carried away by wind. There is nothing electronic, nothing mechanical, nothing that will fail in year three or year ten.
The bracket mounts under the shingle, not through the roof deck. No drilling into the roof, no warranty issues with your shingle manufacturer, no leak points created.
Installed in a single visit by a W-2 LeafLine crew. Lifetime clog-free guarantee. If you ever do have to clean them, we'll come do it for free — but we've made about three of those calls in the last four years, all on heavily-wooded properties where the mesh load got past what wind self-cleaning could handle.
Two competing approaches dominate the consumer gutter protection market. Here is how the LeafLine system compares against the most common alternatives.
| Feature | LeafLine | Leading micromesh | Surface-tension covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mesh aperture | 0.4 mm (stainless) | 0.6–0.8 mm | No mesh |
| Stops pine needles | Yes | Marginal | No |
| Stops shingle grit | Yes | No — clogs over time | No — bypasses |
| Mounting method | Under shingle, no roof penetration | Through roof deck (voids some warranties) | Slips into gutter |
| Handles high-volume rain | Yes (tested to 4 in/hr) | Yes | Overflow above 2 in/hr |
| Warranty | Lifetime clog-free + 25-yr stainless | Lifetime with exclusions | 10-yr limited |
| Install time | 1 day, W-2 crew | 1 day, often subcontractor | 1 day, often subcontractor |
"We bought a house under three big white oaks in 2018. Cleaned gutters four times a year, lost two ladders to dramatic falls (mine, not the ladder's fault). Installed LeafLine September 2024. We have not been on the roof since. The gutters look exactly like the day they were installed. Worth every dollar."
"Got three quotes. Two of them tried high-pressure same-day pricing for $3,200 more than the LeafLine number, which was itemised in writing. The LeafLine crew showed up in two trucks at 8am, were done by 3pm, vacuumed up every leaf they'd dislodged from the gutters during install. Different category of professional."
"Three full pine seasons in. The system has shed every single needle. I have walked the perimeter of the house after every big windstorm because I am a worrier, and the gutters are visibly empty every time. The only debris that ever sits on top is large maple leaves that blow off after the next breeze. As advertised."
A typical 150 linear-foot install runs between $2,400 and $3,900 depending on gutter height, roof complexity, and current gutter condition. We don't quote per-foot pricing online — the variance with roof pitch and accessibility is too high — but the measurement and written estimate are free.
Depends on the gutter condition. If your existing gutters are sound, we install LeafLine directly onto them. If they're sagging, leaking, or undersized, we recommend replacement — and we do the gutter work in-house as well. The free measurement appointment will tell you which.
The mesh is self-cleaning by wind and rain — debris stays on top and gets carried away by the next storm. If something does manage to bridge the mesh, we come out and clean it under the lifetime guarantee at no cost. We've made about three of those calls in the past four years.
No. LeafLine mounts under the shingle line with a hidden bracket — no penetration into the roof deck. This is different from competing systems that screw through the deck, which can void some shingle manufacturer warranties.
A typical install (150–200 linear feet) takes 4–7 hours. Larger homes take a full day. We don't leave the job half-done — the crew stays until everything is installed, sealed, and you've walked the perimeter with the foreman.
